With eight days to go until the Grande Partenza in Cesenatico, the official start list for the Giro d’Italia Women 2026 has been confirmed. The race will get underway on May 30 from the Romagna Riviera and conclude, after 9 stages and 1,179.7 km, in Saluzzo on June 7.

A stellar battle for the final Maglia Rosa is expected, starting with the podium finishers from the 2025 edition: Elisa Longo Borghini (winner of the last two editions), Marlen Reusser (reigning world time trial champion), and Sarah Gigante (winner of two stages and the Mountains Classification in 2025), all set to line up at the start.
They will be joined by three major returnees: European champion Demi Vollering – winner this season of the Tour of Flanders and Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes – Anna van der Breggen, winner of four editions of the Corsa Rosa (2015, 2017, 2020 and 2021), and Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, winner of the 2024 Tour de France Femmes, returning to the Giro six years after her last appearance, when she finished second.
There is also huge anticipation for the bunch sprints. The spotlight will once again be on Lorena Wiebes – five stage wins in three participations, as well as the 2025 Points Classification winner – and Charlotte Kool, returning to the Giro after four years away.
Also looking to make their mark are Italians Chiara Consonni, winner of three stages between 2022 and 2024, and Elisa Balsamo, world champion in 2021 and winner of two Giro stages, both in 2022. Watch out as well for Lara Gillespie, who has enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
The list of riders targeting stage victories is particularly strong. Keep an eye on world champion Magdeleine Vallieres and debutant Cat Ferguson, born in 2006 but already making headlines. Also confirmed at the start are Elise Chabbey, winner of the Strade Bianche Women, one of the surprises of the season Eleonora Gasparrini, former British national champion Pfeiffer Georgi, and Niamh Fisher-Black, stage winner in Toano in 2024.
EUROPE
In Europe, distribution will mainly be handled by Warner Bros. Discovery, with full coverage on Eurosport and the streaming platforms HBO Max and Discovery+. In Great Britain, TNT Sports will be the reference platform. In several national markets, the Giro d’Italia Women will also be available on free-to-air broadcasters, further expanding the potential audience. The Women’s Corsa Rosa will be broadcast live in Italy, on Rai, and in Belgium on RTBF and VRT. In Russia, every stage will be covered by the OKKO platform.
WORLDWIDE
International distribution also includes North and South America. In North America, live coverage in Canada and the United States will be provided by FloSports, with digital distribution through the Flobikes channel, as well as HBO Max. In South America, live coverage will air on DirecTV and ESPN, along with major local broadcasters in Colombia (Caracol) and Bolivia (Sport Tv). In Asia and Oceania, the race will be broadcast live in China on Zhibo TV and in Australia on SBS. Highlights will be available in Japan on JSports. Every stage will also be broadcast live across Sub-Saharan Africa on SuperSport.
