Sarah Gigante (AG Insurance – Soudal Team) has won Stage 7 of the Giro d’Italia Women, the 150km long Fermignano-Monte Nerone, ahead of Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) and Isabella Holmgren (Lidl – Trek).
Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) is the new Maglia Rosa.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Sarah Gigante said: “Two stage wins is an impressive result. Today I felt good — I had studied the final climb and decided to attack on the steep section. At the same time, I wanted to show that stage 4 wasn’t just a one-off, but that I came to Italy to achieve great results. I’m really grateful to my team — we rode the whole race together. I’m still a bit far back in the GC, but I’ll give it a go tomorrow”.
