A taste of the Dolomites
The Giro d’Italia Women will also take on the great Alpine passes: on the Longarone–Santo Stefano di Cadore stage, the highlights include Tre Croci, the Passo di Sant’Antonio, and the double ascent of Costalissoio.
The timed KOM will be the Sant’Antonio itself (1,476 m), a historic link between the Comelico and Cadore regions.
The climb is 8.3 km long at an average gradient of 7.5%, a demanding effort placed around 40 km from the finish, set to thin out the peloton before the double passage of Costalissoio (2.7 km at 9.8%).
Already featured in the Giro d’Italia in 2011 (with a subsequent finish on the Zoncolan) and again in 2018, when Simon Yates took the win, it offers a finale very similar to that stage.
