Bibione

Overview

Bibione is a renowned seaside resort on the northern Adriatic coast, located in the Veneto region between Venice and Trieste. It is known for its wide sandy beach and for a tourism style focused on relaxation and families. The town lies on a peninsula between the sea and a lagoon, offering a pleasant natural setting with pine forests, cycling paths, and green areas.

The beach, well-maintained and fully equipped, along with its shallow waters, makes it especially suitable for children, while the high level of services ensures comfort and safety. Beyond its seaside appeal, Bibione is also appreciated for its thermal spa facilities, which allow visitors to enjoy the destination year-round, enhancing its offer with wellness-focused experiences.

Food

BIBIONE’S WHITE ASPARAGUS

Bibione’s white asparagus is a vegetable that boasts unique organoleptic qualities thanks to its cultivation in the sandy soil of Bibione. It is distinguished by its pure white color, due to its cultivation under shade cloths that protect it from sunlight. Its history is intertwined with that of the “Bibione” Agricultural Cooperative, founded in 1959 by Istrian exiles who came here to escape the persecution they were suffering in their homeland.

Wine

There is no viticulture in Bibione; however, in the surrounding hinterland there are some important DOCG and DOC consortia, such as Lison DOCG, linked to the cultivation of the Tai grape; Lison Pramaggiore DOC, which includes various types of red and white grapes such as Cabernet, Refosco, or Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio; finally, it is possible to find Prosecco DOC from Glera grapes, grown in various countrysides of the municipalities of Eastern Veneto, including that of San Michele al Tagliamento.

Points of interest

VAL GRANDE NATURE OASIS

The Val Grande Nature Oasis is a protected area located behind the town of Bibione. This oasis is a true paradise for nature lovers, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its area of over 300 hectares consists of a wide variety of habitats that host rich flora and fauna. The Oasis was opened to the public in 2024 thanks to the initiative of Bibione Spiaggia S.R.L., with the aim of preserving and enhancing one of the last unspoiled natural areas of the Veneto coastal region.

BIBIONE’S TERMAL SPA

The thermal facilities of Bibione are a complex of pools, wellness areas, and medical clinics located on the beach facing the sea of Bibione. In addition to their exclusive seafront location, Bibione Thermae offer innovative “Longevity Spa” treatments and host clinics for preventive and rehabilitative medicine, as well as thermal therapies made possible by hyperthermal waters drawn from an aquifer just a few kilometers from the center of Bibione, which also supply the wellness center and swimming pools.

BIBIONE’S LIGHTHOUSE

Bibione’s Lighthouse (named “Lighthouse of Punta Tagliamento”) stands at the eastern end of the beach, at the mouth of the Tagliamento River, which marks the border with region Friuli Venezia Giulia. In addition to its function as a maritime signal, the lighthouse facility hosts a museum open to visitors and can be reached via a cycling path immersed in the greenery of an unspoiled pine forest, where the lighthouse complex, built in the early 1900s, remains to this day the only visible artificial structure.

LAGOON OF BASELEGHE

Bibione’s western border overlooks the splendid Baseleghe Lagoon, which, through a natural system of canals and sandbanks, connects Bibione to the nearby sea city of Caorle, passing through the lands and inland waters of the “Brussa”’s plain. From Baseleghe port pier, where tourist boats dock, you can admire splendid views from dawn to dusk, accompanied by the songs and flights of the seabirds that come to feed in these brackish waters.

Buja

Overview

Buja is a municipality situated in the foothills of Friuli, nestled between hills and plains, in a peaceful yet well-connected location.

The area is characterised by a varied natural landscape and a strong historical and cultural identity, with deeply rooted local traditions. Buja is a vibrant community, with agricultural and craft activities and a good range of services, making it a place that strikes a balance between quality of life and local development.
